Help us do more to support women and babies at UCLH

UCLH’s obstetrics and gynaecology service has been ranked as number three in the world in the Newsweek annual list of best specialist hospitals for 2025.

We work closely with the clinical teams at the world class Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing (EGA) to identify and support a wide range of things that make the experience of coming to UCLH as a patient that bit better, and for staff, a better place to work.  This has included:

  • New and replacement specialised equipment for fetal medicine and the neonatal unit so patients can benefit from the best possible, up-to-date developments and advances
  • Fetal and neonatal research with global reach
  • Improving hospital waiting areas and examination rooms, so they feel more welcoming and less clinical for women and their babies
  • Improving staff areas, so hard-working staff can have some rest and relaxation on their breaks
  • Soft furnishings, art and special equipment for our new Butterfly Suite

We are now fundraising to support the relocation and refurbishment of the birthing pool which decreases the effect of gravity and can help women move around freely, relax and reduce adrenaline during childbirth, to promote the body’s natural hormones to cope with labour pains.

To support our birthing pool appeal, please go to the donate button and select 'Maternity’  on the drop down menu.
